Monthly on the fourth Monday of every month.
Starting Monday, April 23, 2018, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
This monthly support group is for the women in the LBTI+ community to experience a trusting, convivial rapport to help increase their sense of social support and decrease the likelihood of feeling alone and depressed. The group talks about their issues and also learns about healing and well-being with the goal of living a safe, healthy and happy life. They validate one another’s experiences including their negative feelings.
The group serves as a peer-to-peer support group for individuals who identify as lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, etc. The group discusses experiences with prejudice and other biases they face and work on learning healthy ways to mitigate depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and other maladaptive coping mechanisms that can develop as a result of the prejudice and bias faced. This is a safe place to discuss these challenges and find a sense of community for healing and well-being.
